I found these to be the best Aim Style options: After a year of playing I’ve been refining this and have found this to be the most optimal: UPDATE: Here’s my latest button mappings. Here’s my Button Layout, it works really well for me. If you use the run button you’ll be constantly picking up weapons by accident so you don’t want that. Now the first three screens can be done in any order it’s every other screen after this that you need to follow carefully.įirstly set the ADS Reach to the max (40), and the Weapon Pickup to “Inventory Button”. Once I was able to nail down the fundamentals it was easy. The breakthrough moment for me was identifying what was not negotiable compared to what was really up to personal preference. Because every setting can affect another, you’re looking at potentially hundreds of possible variations. What made finding the right configuration really difficult was the relationship between the many settings. I’ve been testing it for days now and it works incredibly well. I have set mine to be the same as the Cursor Speed and Camera Sensitivity) ( Camera Sensitivity ADS is a new setting, also introduced in the second update.

As much as I would love to boost my camera speed, it would make it difficult for me to go back to BO2 which I still love to play from time to time so I have decided to leave them as-is.

The second update doubled the Camera Speed settings, so what you see now in the screenshot above is one of the few areas that differs from Black Ops 2. I think of this setup as a really focused one designed for people who have mastered specific weapons. So I don’t carry a secondary, tactical or lethal, and I’ve mapped melee to a gesture. Basically, instead of trying to do everything, I want to do just a few things but do them well. The one thing you’ll probably notice about my button layout is that it’s almost like Metroid Prime 3 in terms of design philosophy, in the sense that instead of trying to make the controller do everything, I’m acknowledging the limitations of the Wii Remote (limited button count) and focusing it on just a few things. So if you are a beginner you may want to refer to that guide first as everything there still applies.Īnyway here are some updated screenshots with what I consider to be the most optimal setup:

Because almost all the settings are the same this time around, including the scales, I won’t repeat everything as it mostly builds on the original guide I put together earlier this year (see here).
